CRM Systems Specialist Logical Minds Judges Yorkshire Digital Awards 2007

May 2007

This month’s Yorkshire Digital Awards showcased a wealth of talent, with 11 winners stepping up to receive awards for outstanding achievement across Yorkshire’s digital industry.

With numerous submissions for each of 10 categories, the awards ceremony was the culmination of endless hours of consideration, evaluation, short listing and discussion by a panel of expert judges including CRM systems specialist David Weaver of Logical Minds.

David says: "As Logical Minds specialises in the delivery of on-demand process solutions such as CRM systems, we were delighted to be asked to join the judging panel for the Yorkshire Digital Awards 2007."

"Along with three other judges, we helped to judge winners in four categories: Best Web Design Company, Best Innovation, Best Newcomer and Best Use of Broadband. There were a large number of awards entrants and they varied massively. One of the biggest tasks was to decide on a shortlist of six submissions for each category. The shortlists were then considered on a final judging day, when we agreed upon the winners and runners up. We also decided on an overall Grand Prix winner for outstanding overall achievement".

Despite the large amount of work involved, David was delighted to have been invited to judge the Yorkshire Digital Awards.

He says: "As a 42 Under 42 Awards finalist in 2006, I immediately recognised the importance of the Yorkshire Digital Awards for promoting Yorkshire’s digital industry pioneers. Our 42 Under 42 Awards finalist status allowed us to promote the wide range of CRM systems that we deliver and showcase our impressive portfolio of clients such as Co-op Pharmacy Group, York Racecourse and Screen Yorkshire. In just the same way, the Yorkshire Digital Awards will put this year’s winners on the digital industry map, both across the region and UK wide and let everyone know what a wealth of digital talent we have in Yorkshire."

The top winner of the night was Leeds company AQL, which won the Grand Prix, Best Innovation Award and Best Mobile Technology Award for developing an easy to use programme for using VoIP over mobile phones.

York-based Ioko won the Best Use of Broadband Award for providing the technology behind TV On Demand providers Sky Anytime and Channel 4 On Demand. Whilst www.9xb.com won the Best Newcomer Award for its varied range of web sites with clean graphics, strong visual identity and strong client names.

Other winners included Ripe Design for Best Web Design Company, www.york-england.com for Best Business to Business Site and www.greatyorkshireshow.com for Best Not for Profit Site.

Jamie Snape of Stray Beyond won Best Designer for the work he had done on a wide range of high-quality sites, including many for Swan Homes, whilst www.wolfordboutiquelondon.com won Best Business to Consumer Site for its usability and its success in conveying the lingerie boutique’s brand image.
